1.23 Birthday Surprise

While Pearl was making their cake. Amelia and Lee joined them for breakfast. “Good morning Happy birthday Lee. Happy birthday sweetie.” Pearl said while mixing the batter.

“Are you excited half pint?:” Clarissa asked.

“Yes I am so excited I can’t wait. Is David coming?”

“No he has to work today but he said to wish you a happy birthday.” Clarissa said with a smile. David was no longer answering her texts or phone calls.

“Well that is ok. He will come and visit.” Amelia said happily as she got up to wash her dish.

Pearl finished mixing the cake batter and just sat their for a moment. She was nervous for Amelia. She wondered how she would handle being a teen and being a adult she knew she would not get to see her get married or have children. Clarissa broke through her thoughts and brought her back to what was going on.

“Mom you going to just stare at it or bake it?” Clarissa said laughing. Her mom was beginning to space out more and more. She didn’t know if it was from old age or just her getting lost in thought a lot.

“Oh sorry I was lost in thought. Ok lets get this cake in the oven.” Pearl said turning and walking towards the stove.

Lee was up first and Clarissa was right there blowing the biggest party horn that she bought at the party store.

Lee smiled he had accomplished a lot in his life and was so proud of all three of his children. He knew that when Pearl and him were no longer around they would be just fine.

Next up was Amelia. She was nervous and excited at the same time when she blew out her candles. She couldn’t wait to be a teen and at the same time she wondered what would change because of it.

Amelia aged up into a beautiful young lady.

“Happy birthday. Your sister has a surprise for you in your old toy room.” Pearl said from behind her.

“A surprise. I can’t wait.” Amelia said as she was running out of the kitchen and upstairs.

She opened the door to her old toy room and was blown away. It was her very own Art room. The easel was facing the window so she could look out while she painted. To the side was a guitar and a violin for her to practice if she chose. She loved it.

Amelia started painting right away. She decided she would store the paintings and take them to the Art gallery one day to see if she could sell them and get a job as a painter.

Pearl came up to check on her. She saw she was focused on her painting and didn’t even notice her enter the room. Pearl decided to leave the heir talk for another day and let her enjoy her gifted. She quietly walked out of the room.
